Amorphophallus haematospadix

Hook. f. 1893

I bought one tuber in the Autumn of 2004.

The tuber was 3 cm in diameter.	It put the leaf up in the beginning of July 2005.
The leaf was about 20 cm tall, 14 cm in diameter.
The petiole was dark brown with no pattern.

2006

In 2006 it was larger than in the previous year, but the leaf had only 6 leaflets. My assistant Luna did a lot of detailed research.

2007

The tuber grew to 45 mm of diameter.	The vernation of the leaf is supervolute.
That year the leaf blades were already divided.
Together with Amorphophallus bulbifer.

2008-09

Since it had lost the leaf in 2007 the tuber had been dormant for two seasons. The left photo - February 2008, the right one - February 2009. Its diameter in 2008 was still 45 mm.
During the 2 years of dormancy it diameter reduced to 42 mm.	The main bud was dried, it prepared to put two leaves in October of 2008.

2010

The tuber also lost these two buds.	On the 30th July, 2010 it woke up at last showing a bud somewhere from the side of the tuber.
On the 19th August the leaf appeared.	It was 30 cm tall, 21 cm wide, the petiole height was 27 cm.
It was sure that after so long dormancy and unsuccessful attempts to put leaves, it would be smaller.
Here and in the photos below you can see how it formed the new tuber from the side of the old one.
It also produced two small tubers.
