Rooting in water

This Dieffenbachia oerstedii began to rot at the base.
It had a few stems, so I managed to help it.
Plants to be multiplied this way: Dieffenbachia, Aglaonema, most of climbers.

I cut it into stem and top cutlings.
I put them into a dark glass with water,
not to let the light go to the roots
and I set it in a warm place.
After 4 months the top cutlings
produced so big roots,
that I could plant them in the soil.
So I did it.
